Both the Dodge Durango and GMC Acadia offer an incredible amount of power with their respective engines. The Dodge Durango starts out with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that pushes to 295 horsepower while the GMC Acadia base engine, a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, falls way behind at 193 horsepower.

Each vehicle offers additional engine options, but the Dodge Durango offers a 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 and a 6.4-liter HEMI® V8, the latter of which produces 475 horsepower. The GMC Acadia, on the other hand, only offers a 3.6-liter V6, which maxes out at 310 horsepower. On top of having more options, the Dodge Durango offers more power as well.

Passenger & Cargo Space

While these two SUVs offer a similar size, there’s a pretty big gap in the space that they offer their respective passengers. The Dodge Durango certainly accommodates the rear passengers more with 39.8 inches of second row headroom and 37.8 inches of third row headroom. The GMC Acadia offers 39.6 inches of headroom in the middle row and 37.2 inches in the last row.

As for cargo, each SUV offers an impressive amount of space behind the third row. However, if you fold down the second and third row, the Dodge Durango offers 85.1 cubic feet of total cargo space. The GMC Acadia only offers 79 cubic feet of space when its last two rows are folded down.

Each SUV includes a dashboard-mounted touchscreen display that’s more than seven inches. Both screens include voice-recognition technology and compatibility with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. The Dodge Durango and GMC Acadia also include Bluetooth® technology which allows for hands-free phone connectivity and audio streaming from your phone’s library or apps. Each vehicle offers the optional SiriusXM® Satellite Radio trial, however, the Dodge Durango trial is for one year, while the GMC Acadia SiriusXM® trial is only for three months.
