Red Dashboard Warning Lights
Red lights are hard to miss and when they appear, it means that there’s a severe issue occurring with your vehicle that requires your attention. These lights include:
- Brake Warning Light: If this light appears, it means that there’s a malfunction with your vehicle’s braking system. You should pull over to safety immediately, and contact your Dodge dealer right away. It’s not recommended to continue driving without the full function of your braking system.
- Battery Charge Warning Light: When this light pops on, it means that your battery is having trouble keeping a charge. You should pull over to contact your Dodge dealer, because the battery could run out of power and shut off your vehicle.
- Electric Power Steering Fault Warning: You should immediately pull over to safety if you see this light appear on your dashboard. It means that your power steering is malfunctioning, and maneuvering your vehicle will become increasingly difficult.
- Engine Coolant Temperature Warning: If you’re driving at peak performance and this light appears, it means that the engine coolant is beginning to overheat. You should pull over to let the engine cool. If the light continues to appear, contact your Dodge dealer.
Yellow Dashboard Warning Lights
When you see a yellow light appear, it means that there’s an issue, but it’s not as severe as red. It means that you should schedule service soon to have the following issues inspected.
- Engine Check/Malfunction Indicator: When your On Board Diagnostics System detects an issue with your engine, this light will appear to let you know to schedule service soon.
- Low Washer Fluid Warning: This light will pop on if you have low washer fluid. It’s recommended that you refill the washer fluid at your earliest convenience.
- Low Fuel Warning: When your vehicle has less than two gallons of fuel left, this light will appear to let you know to refuel your vehicle as soon as possible.
White Indicator Lights
- Cruise Control Ready Indicator: When you activate your cruise control system, this light will appear to let you know that you can set the desired cruising speed.
Blue Indicator Lights
- High Beam Indicator Light: This light comes on once you’ve activated your high beams. It will remain on until you’ve turned your high beams off.
